The Schedule for your Big Day
The Preparations
The first part of the day sees one photographer with the bride and one at the wedding venue with the groom. These moments before the wedding itself are full of a mixture of excitement apprehension and pure joy, capturing the essence of the build up to the wedding.
There will be a number of formal posed shots of the bride with her parents and bridesmaids, as well as the groom with his bestman and ushers. There will also be the opportunity to capture a wide range of candid shots as well. Typically we will arrive at least an 90 minutes before the wedding so that we have time to take the photographs without disrupting any of your preparations.
The Brides Arrival
As the bride arrives at the wedding venue there is a wonderful opportunity to capture those last few moments before the ceremony starts. This gives us the opportunity to take pictures of the bride at the venue and with her car, father and bridesmaids. While this is happening our second photographer will be inside the venue capturing the atmosphere.
The Ceremony
The photos that we are able to take during the ceremony is very dependant on the venue itself and its rules regarding photography. We will have discussed what you would like and we will talk with the relevant people at the venue what we are permitted to do. If no photographs are allowed then we will briefly set up a few posed shots at the end of the ceremony. If we are able to take photos then both photographers will position themselves to capture different angles.
Signing the Registers
Once the ceremony has taken place there will be the signing of the register. We will be taking shots of this momentous part of the proceeding as well as general candid shots. There are a number of formal shots here which look very good of the bride and groom with the witnesses and pretending to sign the register (we are generally not allowed to photograph the ‘actual’ register pages as it is a legal document)
Introducing The Married Couple
Leaving the church as husband and wife and those first few minutes are full of much excitement and there is a real buzz amongst all your friends and family. We will concentrate on capturing that excitement in candid shots before we start to arrange you for the formal shots.
If the venues allow we will be taking photographs at both the wedding and reception, or as per your requirements. The first shots we always take are the famous confetti shots to take advantage of the excitement. Once these are done we will start with the large groups, this means that once these are done a lot of the people can head off to the reception venue or just watch but they don’t need to all hang about.
We then work though all the pre-arranged group shots working down so we end up with just the bride and groom. One photographer will concentrate on the formal group shots while the second photographer will be shooting all the candid shots capturing the real emotion and relaxed nature of the day.
The Reception Venue and Cutting the Cake
Once we reach the reception venue we will continue with further group and pre-arranged shots and we will get some ones of just the bride and groom, often off in a secluded location. This allows them to catch their breath! We will also continue to shoot candid shots throughout this. Once all these shots are done we will take the bride and groom into the venue to take the photos of you cutting the cake (or at least pretending to !) we will also take some of the actual venue itself taking photos of the decorations, top table etc. Once all this is done then we will stay around until you go in for your wedding breakfast.
24 Hours Later
Within 24 hours we will have set-up your unique online wedding album for you and you friends and family to see. It is also great to be able to see your photos before you go on your honey moon. All the images will have a unique order number which will allow your friends and family to order photos directly (you may not want people to be able to do this in which case we can disable the facility)
After your Honeymoon
Once you are ready to choose your photos then we will arrange a convenient time to meet so that you can choose your photographs. You may wish to invite family members at this stage to help you choose. It generally takes between 2-3 hours to select your photographs. |
